We need to hand it to the Elementary costume department (namely, head wardrobe mistress Rebecca Hofherr) for the subtle (or was it completely coincidental?) wink at Sherlock’s (Jonny Lee Miller) burgeoning sex life with the use of one word printed on his post-coitus t-shirt: lucky.
He has been lucky indeed. Between cases, it seems, our detective has been between the sheets with a mortician, a magician, a school teacher, an archeologist, a pastor “of some sort,” and then, of course, the subject of last week’s show (Season 2, Episode 15, “Corpse de Ballet“), a ballerina.
There’s probably a lot of psychoanalyzing that could be done around the types of women he’s been bringing to bed (hey, at least Mr. Anti-Social doesn’t seem to have a “type”), but instead I’ll just give him some props for choosing to keep his revolving door well oiled by not letting the girls linger in the a.m.
I think it’s a pretty genius move that Sherlock insists Watson (Lucy Liu) offers his lady du jour a to-go cup of coffee in the morning. It says so much and yet takes little to no effort execute.
Players of the world: take note.
