Mistresses Fashion: Pilot

The very first episode of ABC’s soapy summer drama Mistresses (Season 1, Episode 1, “Pilot”) aired tonight and in an attempt to  avoid echoing the judgement you all are currently making — yes, that this show should’ve been called  Desperate Housewives  V2.0— I’ve decided I’m going to focus on the characters themselves. By judging them.

Savannah/Savi (Alyssa Milano): She’s supposed to be “the level-headed one” yet she does the most un-level headed thing possible. Cheating on your hot, HOT husband is not Savi. Neither is a nickname that allows for endless puns.

April (Rochelle Aytes): Great smile. Great makeup. Great hair. This likely means she’s going to be the doormat of the group.

Josslyn (Jes Macallan): Behind every smart, savi female (see, there I go again) on TV, there’s always a carefree, fiesty, irresponsible, and, let’s face it, slutty little sis waiting for the spotlight.  Joss fits the bill too a tee. If she didn’t have such a killer wardrobe, it might be easy for me to already be annoyed with her.

Karen (Yunjin Kim): So long as she doesn’t get lost on an island somewhere in the Pacific, I have a feeling Sun — I mean, Karen — is going to provide the most poignant and interesting storyline on the show. Plus, did you notice the way Thomas’ son, Sam (Erik Stocklin) undressed her with his youthful eyes? Scandalous.

I would love to hear what you guys thought of the series premiere, too! Give me your snap judgments in the comments section below.
